Briar Marsh Pine is a cross-disciplinary artist whose work is situated at the intersection of photography, installation, and technology and explores photography’s relationship with the visible world concerning imperialism and the environment.

Briar has exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions nationally, including at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (WA); BlueSky Gallery (OR); Charles Adams Studio Projects (TX); Century College Gallery (MN); Ditch Projects (OR); Kiehle Gallery (MN); The Neon Heater (OH); PAPA Projects (MN); Paul Whitney Larson Gallery (MN); Rochester Art Center (MN); and Gallery 263 (MA). They received their BA in Art and BA in Journalism from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. They received their MFA in Studio Art from Washington State University, Pullman, WA.

They have taught in numerous institutions including the University of Oregon, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Washington State University, Saint Cloud State Univeristy, and Gustavus Adolphus College. 

Briar is from Minneapolis, MN. They are currently the Visiting Assistant Professor in Photography at the University of Oregon in Eugene, OR.
